About Consulate General of France in Miami
In addition to the Embassy of France in Washington, DC, which is the headquarters of French diplomacy in the United States, there are ten Consulates General of France in major American cities, one being attached to the Embassy in Washington, DC.
Consular officials are responsible for protecting the interests of French nationals abroad, be they permanent residents or temporary visitors.
The consulate has a general role of information and animation of the French community ;
The consulate has a role in the protection of our expatriate or transient fellow citizens : social assistance, scholarships, assistance to French transients in difficulty, assistance to incarcerated French people, etc.

It is also up to the consulate to process visa applications from American citizens, when they plan to settle in our country, or from nationals of other nationalities for whom a visa to enter our territory is required.

The territorial competence of this Consulate general of France in Miami covers Florida, Puerto-Rico, the Bahamas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and the Turks and Caïcos Islands.
