About Alliance Francaise de Rochester

It is our mission to encourage and develop knowledge of the French language and French and Francophone cultures, and to foster cultural, intellectual and artistic exchanges between the USA, France and the French-speaking countries. Each Alliance française is governed locally and is operated as an independent, non-profit, non-political, non-religious, non-discriminatory organization.

The Rochester Alliance française was founded at the close of World War II in recognition of the enduring cultural and historical ties between American and French allies. A non-profit organization, it has been officially recognized by the Alliance française Fondation in Paris and by New York State since April-May 2011.
