Alliance Francaise de Frederick

Alliance Française de Frederick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting French language education and Francophone culture throughout Frederick, Maryland and the surrounding region. Since its founding in 1975, the organization has provided comprehensive language instruction and cultural programming to residents of all ages and backgrounds. The Alliance offers small classes for all proficiency levels, ranging from beginner to advanced French instruction, taught by a dedicated cadre of experienced educators. Beyond classroom learning, the organization facilitates informal conversation groups and specialized discussion clubs that allow learners to practice and refine their language skills in supportive community settings. The Alliance Française de Frederick sponsors numerous cultural events throughout the year, including celebrations such as the Fête de Noël, Galette des Rois, and Bastille Day festivities, creating opportunities for the Frederick community to experience authentic Francophone traditions. Members gain access to exclusive programming through the Club du livre, a members-only book discussion group, as well as discounted pricing for select events. The organization also provides access to Le Panier Français and Culturethèque resources, enriching the cultural experience for those interested in French and Francophone heritage. As a partner organization of the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA, the Alliance participates in national and regional programs that make French language and culture accessible to residents throughout Frederick County and adjacent areas in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
